The hardest lesson I've had to learn this year, is that not every friend is a 'friend-forever'.
Its a little painful when you realize though, that some people have absolutely no more use in your life.
Maybe once upon a time, you were sure you would be friends for lifetimes to come. But then they just dropped off the face of your earth and somehow... you can't pick up where you left off.
Earlier this year, I asked God to remove 'dead-weight' friends from my life. You know, those people that are not adding anything at all. I only just realized, he totally did.
I thought of a certain someone today, and sadly I know that if we ever crossed paths again it just wouldn't be the same. I almost miss them but...

Friends forever,
Forever friends?
Only in Care-Bear-Wonderland.

Friends come,
friends go,
I think its time
To let you go.
Everyone has a purpose in your life. Are you fulfilling your purpose in theirs?
I don't want to move into the new year with 'dead-weight'. Do you?
Rotate your mind.
Neither do I want to be a 'dead-weight' friend to anyone.
Reflect your heart.
There is only one 'Friend-for-ever' anyways.
I know Him. (Or at least I think I do)
Do you?
Happy New Year.

Perhaps, knowing when 'friends' become dead weights is the next most important thing to knowing who one's friends are..
hmmmm... word!!!
I love the title "Dead-weight".
I'm always very careful about having people around me who add nothing to my life. people who do not challenge me in any way or encourage me and people who do not seem to have their priorities in order.
I do not hesitate to hit the eject/delete button.
Happy New year babes.
I know Him. (Or at least I think I do)....
With you on that questioning tinge of tongue-in-cheek uncertainty...I hope i do...
I know HIM too
Compliments of the season
Essence of friendships (per-time).
Just the right post to inspire me tonight. Thank you for your reflection on 'dead weight.' There are seasons for friendships, but one thing that encourages me is that I will always have a special kind of love for everyone who's come into my life, be they close to me lesser than they were in the past.
Life is that way. Changes all the time. The difference is in realizing things early enough to do something about it. Happy New year!
@mizchif Lmao @ hiting the delete button cause I am becoming better at hitting it too. Love the honesty.
merry xmas babes..hope you had fun
I definitely relate to this post. I'm getting rid of those dead-weight friends too. Its tough sometimes though to admit that some friends are dead weight.
nice post. And yes not all friends are forever- same as bf's. lol! ndo! Welcome to real life.
That is a realistic new year's resolution. I have had a couple of friends like that both male and female. The funny thing is that my sister always has this gift of picking them out, but i never believe her until i see them for who they are. Users and abusers of friendship..
compliment of the season dear.
plz check your mail box and reply ASAP.
scriptures says 'to lay aside all weights...'
When scriptures says to do something it is because God knows that you can.
lovely

It is important to remember God chooses our relatives,we choose our friends!
