State of mind?
Or complete illusion?

State of mind, if you ask me.
How else do you explain being able to smile and even appear happy
when everything in your life is falling apart at the very place you
tried to glue it together?
Even the one He gave to us.
Or does that one not count?
Is it even the same thing?

How else can one achieve said happiness without transforming your mind
Or transcending your current state or mind.

But what then does one do, when the energy to transcend one's current
state of mind has somehow...vanished?
When the will to get up and be happy is not there?
Or you just simply can't find it?
Maybe it has evaded you somehow?
Or it's avoiding you maybe?
Are you even looking in the right place?

What does one do to achieve said transformation?
Is there a place that specializes in transforming minds?
Is there a procedure or process to achieve said transformation?

Does anybody know how I can acheieve this transcending of minds?

On another note, I had another dream. A friend of mine this time.

I agree that it is a state of mind. When you feel like you're happy, happiness comes.

someone once said that happiness is a temporary state of mind, like feeling sad. so rather than strive to be happy, we should strive to be joyful... you can be full of joy, and still go through the bog standard daily rollercoaster of sad, happy, mildly amused, pissed off etc.

First thing for me is a conscious decision to smile.
A long time ago, I 'trained' myself to laugh by default. No my first response to most things is to laugh...even when I had an auto accident once. I laughed so hard, onlookers thot I had hit my head or something. lol.

Good friends help pick you up...you have to be willing to be picked up though.

At the top of it is the decision that life is beautiful. MY life WILL be happy. Its largely a decision.
Dream big, but be grateful for the little things-these make us happier, really.
Above all...turn to The God personality. He helps a WHOLE lot...when and IF we let ask.
Ask him sometimes.soon.

Stay smiling ( we all deserve that much)

i'm not sure i should comment on this post cos i kinda lost the need/ability to be happy a long time ago. i can fake a smile, a laugh at almost anytime and if i dont want to, i dont bother. Most times i let other insignificant/temporary things fill the void i know is in me...so if you find an answer to that question, please let me know. Goodluck with the search though.

i think happiness is a state of mind, and it comes when you're content...i think...

...state of mind? I don't know mehn

I've said a few times that i find it hard to say i'm 'happy' altho i have very few things to be unhappy about. Like Temite, i think contentment is what i strive for. I'd love to get to a place where i am content with life itself cos from therein stems that joy that passes all understanding...IMO anyways!

Happiness is fleeting...joy is permanent...I guess...

LOL@ Chari...Ok. ok...*Thinks about it a lil more..*

@Nice: Can they be the same thing? Isnt one 'deeper' than the other?

@RepressedOne: So how then do we get to that place?
Is there a formula? Is there a procedure?
Is there a lightbulb that will light the way??

@Diane: Why is everybody equating happiness to contentment? Are they one and the same???

@Tunrayo: lol babes, I will def let you know.

@Mancee:...Hmmmmmm U are the only one with some sort of formula.*makes a note to start applying said formula*

@Kmplx: ahah! That would explain the permanence of Joy...

@Temite: I see...

@DannyB? Any clearer now?
lol

@Bubbles: So the secret is not to strive to be happy, but to be content then?

Happiness = state of mind. I think happiness is inside all of us but the permanent, truest form of happiness will always elude us because of the imperfect world we are in. I think we can only reach that stage of true happiness in heaven.

Happiness = downing a bottle of the best brew and forgetting your troubles. We can't be truly happy here IMO!

Definitely a state of mind but it's a state of mind you have ultimate control over...Now like you said the key is finding the energy to be happy when you feel like everything in your life is falling apart...

You just need to remember that even though you feel like your life is falling apart, it really isn't. It may not be the way you want it to be at that point in time but sunshine always comes after the rain...It'll pass...you'll move on...Things will start to look up...Another, perhaps even a better opportunity will come your way...Whatever the case may be...Happiness lies in remembering that it's not the end, looking past everything that's upsetting you and focusing on all the things that make you happy...All the things that make you smile...All the things you're thankful for.

It really works :))

"Everything will be okay in th end, if it's not okay, then it's not the end"

"Count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done"

And with that, I leave you.
Loved your story on Roc's

*the

And I just saw what Gee said and I'm with her 100%...

I'm happy every single day...not all the time every day, but every day. Because looking for reasons to give thanks to God, and knowing that He loves me despite my failings always puts a smile on my face...

Always always always :))
